Cold Store Still Truck

During the summer of 2015 one of our customers came to BMB with a bespoke design requirement for a cab to be fitted on a “Still” truck that would operate in a cold store working environment. We focused on the smallest of details, the drivers comfort in the bitter cold and also the driver’s safety.

We included 2 powerful heaters; one to provide general warmth within the cab, the other to provided targeted heat towards the driver’s feet as per our customer’s request. The design was completed with an insulated door to reduce noise and heat loss and dedicated control switches on the dashboard. Other features included: a footplate for easy access into the cab, a double latched door to prevent wear and tear and a safety escape window. By request of our customer we also included sacrificial plates to prevent external damage during use and collisions with racking in order to extend the working life of the cab.
